Custom Jewellery.

Here at J F Colley we specialise in handcrafting, unique pieces of jewellery, utilising traditional and modern techniques to do so. Your old unused jewellery or inherited heirlooms can be transformed and modernised into a bespoke piece of jewellery. Alternatively we create your dream piece of jewellery from our extensive range of materials and gemstones.

The Process.

Visit the Shop

We always recommend a visit to the shop for your initial consultation where we can discuss your requirements - whether that be a complete new design or remodelling an old piece of jewellery.

Drawings

Normally we start with some basic ideas on paper to get an idea of what styles you like or don't like, you may have a definite idea of what you want but if not you can get some inspiration from our portfolio of prevoius work, you can also help in the designing with your own sketches.

For more complex pieces we have the option to design your jewellery on our CAD system (Computer Aided Design), this allows you to view the drawing in 3D

Gemstones

If your design incorporates gemstones, you can provide your own or you can select from our stock of diamonds and coloured gemstones, we can also source any special requirements from our stone dealer.

The Making

When the drawings are finalised it's time to get working on making the item. This can take many forms, from completely hand crafting the new piece or having a model made then cast and finished off. This process normally takes around 2-3 weeks with a bit longer for the cad design process.
